Make better choices, use alternatives properly

Life is an organic process, it has decision points where one needs to analyze the alternatives and its impact and have to choose path which can best suit the dynamics of that time, Here am proposing a framework which helps a decision maker to break the journey into various checkpoints, brain storm on every micro checkpoint for different alternatives, choose the best one among them and see the evolution of the decision making process.

In our daily life, we face problems that can be solved by a well taken decision, the significance of a decision depends on an outcome which is strengthen by properly choosing the alternatives. The process of understanding the alternatives and choosing them need proper understanding of the objectives, path to reach that objective, various checkpoints on that path and availability of the alternatives on those checkpoints.
This Framework, helps the user to break the path to objective into small checkpoints, it helps to understand the available alternatives for the journey from one checkpoint to the next and is organic in nature where a user can see the evolution of the problem solving process and can have a better understanding which also empowers the person to take better alternatives.
The objective of this framework is to give a wholesome outlook of the entire problem solving process at one place, where an individual can figure out where he/she stands currently, what is the objective, what are the barriers to reach that objective and what needs to be done to reach the mentioned objective. The reason behind this goes to the understanding that when we are aware of all stakeholders of the process we will take a better and well informed decision.
Importance of Alternatives
The process of problem solving needs decision making, the importance of alternatives gets weight as more the information the more will be the alternatives and which will give a user the option to choose more optimum alternative, the presence of Choice helps the solver to drive the situation as per his information, alternatives play very significant role in it
Decision are made by making choices at every micro decision instants, which depends on the real-time information at that very moment of reaching the specific decision point. Choosing helps the user to drive situation as per his requirement and make the entire process organic by changing it as per new information he gets.
Time as resource
Decision made in hurry often turned out as bad decisions, but at the very same time, Time is the scarcest resource, one need to optimize both the aspects and choose the best decision. Gathering the optimum amount of information, utilizing the available information

Monitoring always helps to controlling the variations and also in extreme situations to change the course with new information, this framework helps the user to have overview of the entire process, so one can make changes as per the need.
Decision Making process
Step One - Define the Objective
As the beginning point, we need the direction to move towards, so the first step is to set the direction by clearly specifying the objective,

Step Two - Divide the field
As decision making process has dynamism in it, we need two separate areas, one place where we can mention alternatives with the thoughts as per the information we have when we are starting the process, second place where we can write down alternatives that arise due to new information we gain as we move in to the process of decision making.

Step Three - Define the biggest problem/barrier that is hindering to achieve the objective
Here we will define the barrier that is stopping us to get to the objective, this should be the biggest barrier in terms of the achievability, it should be something that is beyond your control and hence very difficult to solve.

Step Four - Alternatives
As we have the barrier, now we should find the alternatives we have to solve this, alternatives that a user think that any one alternative can help to resolve this, as discussed in previous step that the barrier should be higher on the scale of achievability and hence the closer we are towards the ultimate objective section, the lower will be alternatives to solve the barrier.

Step Five - Choose Alternative
Now, as we have alternative to solve the problem mentioned, we have to choose one alternative which can help us to overcome this barrier. choose one among the options available at Step-4 and Mark it.

Step Six - Reiterate till you reach a place that you don't have any barrier to mention
We have to reiterate this exercise till we reach a point where we don't have any barrier, we will define barrier for each solution we chose in previous step and find available solution as per the information we have in hand, and will try to reach a situation where we don't have any problem, this situation is defined as current situation where a individual don't have any blockage to work on his target and is already in a position of solving one of the barrier to achieve the ultimate objective.

Step Seven - Connect the chosen alternative solution

This above is the path that one will follow to achieve the ultimate objective, this is the path of decisions or choices that he will make as per the current information he has for the scenario in totality.

As we move with the process, we are excepted to receive more information and hence this may create new barriers and alternative solutions, hence we must respect to them and mention them on the framework.

The new barrier are named with X, they are based on new information that user received while working on this, The dotted line represent the changes made in the planned path of choices and what actually we did to get our objective. 

After the achievement of the objective, facing the barriers, mentioning choices, we will have a following framework, that is based on our information, decision making ability and choices. 

This framework can help us in two major way, first it give us a path of choices as per the information we have at that moment to accomplish the objective and second while working on it, it gives us a scope to make relevant changes as we receive new information or barriers in the process.
